Phlebotomist III - Floater

Location: Chicago, IL (Floating across multiple area locations)

Pay Rate: $28/hour

Employment Type: Contingent

Schedule: Rotating schedule; earliest shift 6:00am, latest shift 8:30pm; weekend availability required (Saturday & Sunday shifts between 7:00am-8:30pm)

Why This Role Matters

As a Phlebotomist Floater, you play a vital role in delivering consistent, high-quality patient care across multiple sites. Your flexibility and expertise ensure seamless coverage and reliable specimen collection that supports accurate and timely diagnostic results.

What You'll Do

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary collections on patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations

  • Accurately label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established protocols

  • Verify patient information and obtain required signatures to ensure accuracy and compliance

  • Travel between Patient Service Centers and In-Office Phlebotomy locations as needed

  • Maintain a safe, professional, and patient-centered environment at all times

  • Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting while meeting turnaround expectations

  • Build trust with patients by explaining procedures clearly and providing excellent customer service

What We're Looking For

  • A current, up-to-date resume

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)

  • Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections

  • At least 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment (preferred)

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment

  • Flexibility to work rotating schedules, weekends, overtime, and travel between sites with minimal notice

  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record

  • Medical assistant or paramedic training and/or phlebotomy certification (preferred)

  • Ability to meet compliance requirements
