Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and finger sticks to obtain blood specimens from patients
• Verify test requisitions and patient identification before specimen collection
• Maintain specimen integrity using aseptic technique and isolation procedures
• Track and label collected specimens with initials, dates, and collection times
• Coordinate with physicians, pathologists, and reference laboratories to resolve unusual test orders

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years phlebotomy experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certificate if required by state
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance and handle protected health information
• Proficiency with aseptic technique and specimen handling procedures
