Location: Shelbyville High School Position Purpose Under the general supervision of a High School Principal, to assist the Principal in providing leadership and supervision in administering the educational program of a High School in order to promote the educational development and achievement of students in accordance with Board of Education policies, administrative procedures, rules and regulations, and applicable law. Essential Functions Provide leadership in program development and improvement, as well as in professional staff development. Serve as Principal in the absence of the Principal. Serve as administrative head of school in the absence of the principal. Administer a program of student discipline and interact with students to encourage positive performance. Work with the principal to oversee implementation of school improvement plan initiatives. Oversee grade level discipline. Chair case conferences for students with Individual Education Plans (IEP), Individual Learning Plans (ILP) and 504s. Assist in completion of teacher and instructional assistant evaluations. Lead curriculum alignment to state standards and scope and sequences within all departments. Oversee textbook adoptions in conjunction with the Principal and Assistant Superintendent. Oversee and monitor curricular/supply fees assigned to students. Assist in the administration of formative and state assessments. Provide supervision in the cafeteria, bus pick up/drop, and other areas as directed by the principal. Maintain, organize and administer the overall program of interscholastic athletics including intramural activities. Monitor the Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS). Coordinate with teachers and counselor/social worker to oversee needs and services of at-risk population. Use technology to enhance communication, instruction, and leadership strategies. Investigate reports of bullying as outlined by the IDOE. Supervise extracurricular activities. Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community. Prepare, at the discretion of the building principal, any office reports. Maintain the student handbook. Assist with all IDOE assessments and comply with Testing Security Policy. Assist the principal in securing cooperation from family and community members to support the school mission. Foster a positive student-centered culture. Assist and help coordinate required safety drills. Work with principal to oversee and monitor school safety. Meet "effective", "highly effective" rating annual evaluations. Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with students, staff, parents/guardians, central office staff, and community stakeholders. Maintain satisfactory attendance. Comply with Corporation Bylaws, Policies and Employee Handbook. Model Corporation Mission Statement and Fundamental Objectives.
