SCIENCE TEACHER Drew School is an independent, urban high school in San Francisco enrolling 300 students in grades 9 through 12. Drew knows and believes in teenagers. More information about Drew is available on our website: Position Overview Drew School seeks a full-time Science teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. We seek a teacher who has experience teaching Chemistry. We seek an educator who will be a collegial, collaborative, and supportive school community member. This position requires someone to teach four classes. We are seeking an experienced science educator with teaching experience across all levels of high school. Our science program places a strong emphasis on inquiry-based, hands-on learning, and we value creativity and real-world application of scientific principles. We want to ensure that a new leader in our school also shares these values. Teaching Duties and Responsibilities Teach 4 sections of science classes Serve as a student advisor Design and lead Experiential Electives Lead an Drew Education for Active Lifelong Learning (DEALL) week experience Mentor a student club activity Maintain high standards of professionalism Work in alignment with the mission of Drew School Desirable Skills and Experience B.A. in Chemistry or associated field (graduate degree preferred) Ideally 5 years experience, teaching courses in Chemistry Knowledge of and experience with recent best practices in science instruction Curriculum development Best practices for teaching students with learning differences Differentiated instruction Experience with Understanding by Design for curriculum review Ideal Dispositions Culturally competent and committed to equity and inclusion Enjoys working with teenagers Self-reflective and growth-minded Collaborates with adults and students Drew offers a supportive working environment; a competitive salary; a complete health benefits package, including 100% employer paid health coverage for the employee’s base plan and 40% employer paid coverage for dependents in the base plan; and a 403(b) retirement savings plan with matching contributions of up to 6% of employee’s salary.
