Software Engineer, UI

Anthropic Labs is seeking creative and versatile UI Engineers to design and implement innovative user experiences for our cutting-edge AI technology. As part of the Labs team, you will work closely with researchers, designers, and product managers to rapidly prototype and validate experimental applications of Anthropic's latest AI models. The Labs team serves as an internal accelerator tasked with bridging the gap between research breakthroughs and product development. Our mandate is to identify high-potential emerging AI capabilities and validate their product-market fit through lightweight demos and user testing. Successful projects will transition to core product teams for further development and launch. Responsibilities Craft intuitive and compelling user interfaces that showcase the power of frontier AI technology Collaborate with designers and researchers to ideate and prototype novel interaction models and UI paradigms Implement high-fidelity, production-quality UI code for web and mobile applications Develop reusable UI components and libraries to accelerate prototyping efforts Advocate for usability, accessibility, and design excellence across Labs initiatives Conduct user testing and analyze feedback to inform iterative UI improvements Provide UI development mentorship to grow the team's capabilities Qualifications 5+ years of experience building modern, responsive user interfaces for web and mobile Expert proficiency in frontend technologies such as React, JavaScript, CSS, HTML Solid grasp of UI/UX design principles and ability to implement designs with high fidelity Experience prototyping interactive UI concepts and collaborating closely with designers Knowledge of accessibility best practices and web standards Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to creatively apply UI patterns to AI-driven experiences Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner effectively with cross-functional teams Passion for creating thoughtful, user-centric interfaces that responsibly integrate AI capabilities Portfolio demonstrating range of UI design and development work Example projects you might work on Designing multimodal interfaces that seamlessly combine vision, language and speech interactions Exploring novel UI paradigms for human-AI collaborative workflows Prototyping intelligent UI components that proactively adapt to user needs and context Experimenting with generative UI techniques to create dynamic, personalized interfaces We look forward to seeing your skills and creativity applied to the UI challenges at the forefront of AI. $300,000—$405,000 USD
