A Dietary Aide supports the nutrition team in a nursing facility by helping prepare, serve, and deliver meals to residents. The core goal is to ensure residents receive safe, nutritious, and enjoyable meals that meet their dietary needs.

?? Key Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation - Assist with basic food prep, portioning, and plating according to menus and diet orders
• Meal Service - Deliver trays, ensure meals are presented safely and on time
• Diet Compliance - Follow special diets such as low-sodium, pureed, diabetic, or allergy-specific plans
• Sanitation Tasks - Clean kitchen areas, wash dishes, and maintain food-safety standards
• Resident Support - Communicate kindly with residents and report concerns to nursing or dietary staff

• Food-handling knowledge and ability to follow safety guidelines
• Teamwork skills and a positive, resident-focused attitude
• Ability to stand, lift, and move throughout shifts

As an important member of our team, the Dietary Aide provides assistance in all food service functions to ensure patients' dining needs are met in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. Your daily responsibilities will be providing assistance in food preparation and serving, while maintaining clean and sanitary conditions.


Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Prior health-care experience preferred
• Prior food services experience preferred

Specific Job Requirements

• Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
• Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
• Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
