Occupational Therapist Assistant - Pediatric Intensive Feeding Program

Scope of Work Under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist, provides occupational therapy services to patients/clients to assist in improving basic motor functions, reasoning abilities, and compensating for permanent loss of function by teaching patients/clients to perform tasks in their daily living and working environments. Responsibilities Provide occupational therapy services to patients/clients to improve basic motor functions, reasoning abilities, and compensating for permanent loss of function by teaching patients/clients to perform tasks in daily living and working environments. Provide treatment to patients/clients with cognitive impairment, psychosocial dysfunction, and physical disability. Assist with patient/clients and caregiver education. Prefer candidates with feeding experience. Qualifications Associate's Degree from an accredited therapy assistant program. Therapy assistance experience. Experience in neurological injury, TBI, and spinal cord injury (based on Spectrum Health entity). Preferred licensure: LIC-Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) – STATE_MI; CRT-Occupational Therapy Assistant, Certified (COTA) – NB-COT. Upon hire required: LIC-Driver's License – STATE_MI. Upon hire required: Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA American Heart Association or ARC American Red Cross within 90 days. Shift & Schedule Full time, Day shift, 40 hours per week. Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday. Location Mary Free Bed – 360 Lafayette SE, Grand Rapids.
