About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Must have a valid nursing license in hand Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Telemetry experience; ideally PCU or greater Description: Must have a valid nursing license prior to application. Candidates must be able to start on or after the stated date. The ICU unit has 20 beds with a variable patient-to-nurse ratio based on acuity. Day shift typically consists of 1 charge nurse, 8-10 RNs, 1-3 LNAs, and PRN sitters. Night shift also has 1 charge nurse, 8-10 RNs, 1-3 LNAs, and PRN sitters. For ECMO cases, the ratio is 2:1; for post open heart surgery patients, it is 1:1. Critical ICU patients on devices are typically managed with a 1:1 ratio. Typical ICU assignments are 1:2; stepdown assignments are 1:3-4. Common equipment includes IV pumps, telemetry monitors, and ventilators. The patient population consists of mixed medical and surgical ICU cases. Critical skills include experience with telemetry and critical drips. Candidates with prior ICU experience will be prioritized. Typical procedures performed include central line insertion, intubation, and chest tube insertion. The ideal candidate is organized yet adaptable. Candidates without the required skills will not be considered for this role. Every third weekend is required, but there is no call duty.
