Job Summary
Operating Room (First Assistant) RN Jackson, Kentucky. The Surgical First Assistant RN is an advanced operating room professional who supports surgeons by performing crucial tasks such as suturing, providing exposure, and helping control bleeding. This role also supports operating room readiness before, during, and after surgery; candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Monday through Friday with call 23 days per week; 8 shift hours; minimum 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Kentucky license (must be held/maintained)
  • Surgical Assistant Certification through the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure
  • Credentialing through either the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Commission for the Certification of Surgical Assistants (NCCSA)
  • Ability to support surgical procedures under the supervision of surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team
  • Minimum 23 years of experience in the role
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior travel experience

  • Operating room assistants help with surgical procedures under the supervision of surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team.
  • Operating room assistants help ensure the operating room is clean before, during, and after surgery.
  • Will be required to fill in on holidays if needed.
