Job Summary: The Senior Product Line Manager (PLM) has full product‑level responsibility, including P&L for the entire UPS line of products at IntelliPower. The PLM is responsible for concept‑to‑end‑of‑life product marketing activities for assigned products and/or product lines. This includes competitive analysis, positioning, promotion, feature definition, and coordination of continuous improvement or corrective actions. The role leads all marketing efforts, working cross‑functionally with sales, engineering, and operations to ensure that products are defined and supported so that customers perceive their value in applications. The position is based in the San Diego, CA office but remote or hybrid arrangements are considered for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities Establish relationships with key customers to capture VOC input on new product concepts. Study and understand our products and research competitors to define advantages, pitfalls, and potential new products. Architect and execute the product roadmap, articulate a strategic, data‑driven plan. Own new product lifecycle, continually reviewing assumptions to ensure technical performance, reliability, and financial success. Review product pricing relative to margins and competitors, recommending price changes to support the product price‑list update schedule. Collaborate with sales, engineering, and others to define new products, including technical requirements, market analysis, sales forecasts, ROI, and project justifications. Lead new product development (NPD) and launch processes, authoring Concept Approval requests (CA) and marketing requirements documents (MRDs). Lead technical and commercial discussions with customers regarding new product engagement or voice‑of‑customer market research. Provide marketing application support, including research and writing of application notes and marketing bulletins, and collaborate with field sales to determine cost‑effective solutions. Lead marketing launch activities for new or updated products, including user manuals, ads, sales training, press releases, and collateral materials. Support departmental market research activities, becoming the “resident expert” on assigned segments—market size, applications, technical requirements, and trends. Evaluate modified standard product requests for technical and financial feasibility, including ROI criteria. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. 10 years of technical application, customer support, or sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Legal right to work in the U.S. and authorization to access export‑controlled information and source code. Desired Qualifications Product management experience, including new product introductions and stage‑gate review processes. High‑level customer engagement with solid judgment to advance issues to closure. Clear, concise presentation of issues and solutions to senior management. Detail‑oriented and well organized. Positive, optimistic attitude; excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to present technical concepts to internal and external customers. Highly committed to understanding the customer perspective. Experience with ATE test systems or similar integrated software development tools. Ability to work independently using established guidelines. Technical leadership to resolve product and client application issues (hardware, software, firmware). Ability to lead junior staff in troubleshooting client application and product technical issues. Prior military experience and work in related industry preferred.
