CST DAYS Performs scrub duties during surgical procedures under direct supervision of the physician and the circulating registered nurse. Performs other functions as directed to assist in departmental operations 13 Weeks Local OK - Same Rate First Time traveler ok ASAP Start Dates prefered Demonstrates clinical competency in caring for patients as identified in unit's Scope of Care. Demonstrates competency in the care of the patient in the following stages of the life cycle: infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Assists the surgeon as scrub personnel according to established standards. a. Scrubs, gowns and gloves in accordance with established policy. b. Sets up table, instruments and supplies as relevant to the operation. c. Assists in preparation and draping of patients as needed. d. Anticipates the needs of surgeons in instruments, sutures, sponges and supplies. e. Observes patient and is prepared for emergencies. f. Maintains a correct count of sponges, needles and instruments with the circulating nurse. g. Maintains aseptic technique at all times as directed by established policy. h. Assists in the care and handling of specimens and cultures as directed by established policy. i. Assists in the application of dressing and casts, and in moving patients as directed. j. Demonstrates competency in the care of the patient in all stages of the life cycle: infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
