Computed Tomography Technologist

This is a 13-week contract position. Afternoon shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, including weekends. Location: Wyandotte, MI.

Job Description

Under general supervision, the Computed Tomography Technologist specializes in performing computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. The role may also involve performing general diagnostic radiology examinations and related duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the examination.
• Review clinical data on requisitions and perform appropriate examinations.
• Prepare procedure rooms and manage supplies, including linen and related materials.
• Analyze anatomical structures, set up equipment, and perform CT scans.
• Manually control equipment to obtain the correct diagnostic information.
• Administer intravenous contrast media and monitor patients for possible reactions.
• Assist Radiologists in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures.
• Ensure radiation protection principles during imaging procedures.
• Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery into PACS.
• Complete study indexing in the Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Document all necessary information in medical records and within the radiology information system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) with an advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or registry-eligible.
• BLS certification is required.
• Must maintain required hours of continued medical education.
