Senior Project Accountant

Location: Conshohocken, PA area | Hybrid — primarily onsite (~4 days/week) with some flexibility Type : Full-Time, Direct Hire The Opportunity Our client is an established construction company (roughly $50M+ in annual revenue) that recently became part of a larger global organization — and with new ownership comes a rare opening: the chance to be the accounting lead at the local level and build the function the right way from the ground up. This is not a seat in a big, layered accounting department. You'll be the go-to accounting professional at this location, reporting directly to a Regional Controller who will support you — while you own project accounting, financial reporting, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition for the business. You'll also supervise and develop one direct report handling AP/AR. If you like inheriting a perfectly polished process, this isn't for you. What You'll Own Project accounting & PoC: Percentage-of-completion accounting, WIP analysis, job costing, and project profitability reporting Month-end close: Lead a fast close (1-day close cadence) with Day 1 corporate reporting — margin, revenue, and WIP analysis — followed by a short adjustment window and monthly business reviews with senior leadership (you’ll help prep the materials) Financial reporting: Monthly, quarterly, and annual financials; variance analysis vs. budget, forecast, and prior periods Process building: The department is being rebuilt under new ownership — you’ll help evaluate current processes, stand up internal controls, and improve visibility as the company transitions to new corporate reporting requirements Team leadership: Supervise, review, and develop an accounting associate covering AP and AR Audit support: Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA progress a plus) 5+ years of progressive accounting experience — construction industry strongly preferred Hands‑on experience with percentage‑of‑completion accounting, job costing and WIP reporting Full‑cycle accounting and month‑end close ownership, ideally under tight corporate deadlines..
