Job Summary Directs and manages the operations and activities of the Labor & Delivery Department. Responsible for the overall management of the department’s daily operations to achieve quality improvement, fiscal, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals and objectives established by upper management. Responsible for staff performance and the accomplishment of departmental responsibilities in accord with corporate, hospital, department, and safety policies and procedures to meet both company and regulatory requirements. Responsible for providing high‑quality patient care and acting as liaison with patients and their representatives, physicians, and employees. Responsible for the efficient operation of the department and optimum use of resources to maximize productivity and minimize costs. The Department Director assumes the role as a leader in planning, directing, and managing the department and staff to assure quality service on a 24‑hour basis. The Department Manager is responsible for meeting TJC Standards, complying with corporate policy and procedures, managing supplies and equipment on the unit, promoting teamwork with physicians and all health care providers, promoting internal and external customer satisfaction, and for appropriate resource management. Qualifications Advanced Cardiac Life Spt Basic Cardiac Life Support Neonate Resuscitate (RN) Registered Nurse Bachelors Degree Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting Minimum of 2 years management experience as a Nursing Manager or Nursing Director in an acute care Hospital setting HCA Florida Palms West Hospital is a 204‑bed facility in Palm Beach County. We offer preventative and elective programs and surgeries. We are an Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Primary Stroke Center. HCA Florida Palms West Hospital has emergency services, a dedicated New Life Center and a Level II NICU. We have a full‑service Children’s Hospital. Services include outpatient rehabilitation, an aquatics center, orthopedic spine center, robotics, and interventional radiology. HCA Florida Palms West Hospital is located on a 94‑acre campus in Palm Beach County. The surrounding areas include Wellington, Royal Palm Beach and Loxahatchee.
