Diesel Mechanic

Location: Eagan, MN Position Type: Full-Time Compensation: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour (based on experience) Sign-On Bonus: Up to $8,000 Position Summary Aspen Waste Systems is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to help maintain and repair the fleet of vehicles and equipment that support its waste and recycling operations. This hands-on role is responsible for performing inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with heavy-duty trucks, diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and related equipment. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, battery checks, and equipment lubrication. Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections to identify maintenance needs. Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related mechanical systems. Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, steering, and brake systems. Perform preventative maintenance to maximize fleet reliability and safety. Maintain accurate service and repair records. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards. Work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams to minimize downtime. Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve mechanical issues. Qualifications & Requirements Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty trucks and diesel equipment. Knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, suspension systems, steering systems, air brakes, and hydraulics. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage repair priorities. Experience with refuse or waste collection equipment is preferred. Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
