SAGE Dining Services is seeking a motivated and experienced Cook professional to join our dedicated team working on a beautiful school campus in Middletown, RI. The Cook will play a key role in creating memorable, high-quality dishes that enhance the dining experience for our students, faculty, and staff. The cook prepares, seasons, and cooks various foods in restaurants, hotels, or institutions, ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient food service. Core responsibilities include following recipes, managing workstations, maintaining strict sanitation standards (HACCP), and operating kitchen equipment like grills, fryers, and ovens. They often work in fast-paced environments, requiring strong, team-oriented, and detail-focused skills.

Schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Sunday and Wednesday 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Fridays & Saturdays off. 2 consecutive days off!
• Summers off.
• Overtime available for catering events, with prior notice.

Pay Type:

$20.00 Hourly

Produce assigned hot and cold foods in a timely and accurate manner.

Provide meals that consistently exceed our guests' expectations.

Ensure that all food is appropriately displayed and visually appealing.

Interact cheerfully with SAGE guests and Team Members and provide service with a smile.

Prepare assigned menu items in strict accordance with SAGE recipes.

Clean all work areas, equipment, and customer service areas on an ongoing basis.

Use proper food handling, storage, and sanitation techniques always. (HACCP).

Adhere to SAGE's safety and allergy prevention policies.

Assist in training new Cooks and culinary Team Members.

Adapt to additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Endure exposure to extreme temperatures; intense heat and freezing cold.

Experience with cooking strongly preferred.

Ability to set up a serving/action station.

Ability to understand and execute recipes and instructions in detail.

Experience in customer service strongly preferred.

Ability to interact with community and team in a cheerful and friendly manner.

ServSafe certification preferred, but not required.
