Job Description

This 3rd shift custodial role focuses on maintaining clean, safe, and orderly facilities across a university campus. You will perform a full range of custodial duties according to established standards while working efficiently in a team-oriented environment. The position requires flexibility to support varying building schedules and a strong commitment to serving students, staff, and faculty with professionalism and respect.

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned areas to defined custodial standards across campus buildings during the 3rd shift.
• Operate floor scrubbers and waxers safely and effectively to clean and maintain hard floor surfaces.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming in classrooms, offices, corridors, and common areas.
• Collect, remove, and properly dispose of trash and recyclables from designated areas.
• Sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and high-touch surfaces to support a clean and healthy environment.
• Respond to custodial service needs in occupied student and staff areas while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
• Adjust to varying building schedules and special events to ensure facilities remain clean and presentable.
• Work collaboratively with other custodial staff as part of a team-driven environment.
• Travel between campus buildings as needed to complete assigned custodial routes.
• Work overtime when requested to support operational needs and special circumstances.
• Represent the institution with professionalism, reliability, and competence in all interactions.

Essential Skills

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Custodial, housekeeping, janitorial, environmental services, or related experience (two years' experience preferred, but not required).
• Ability to operate floor scrubbers and waxers safely and effectively.
• Proficiency in core custodial tasks, including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, trash removal, and sanitizing.
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team-driven environment.
• Willingness and ability to work 3rd shift, Sunday through Thursday, with flexibility for overtime when requested.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record to travel between buildings.
• Ability to meet Essential Personnel requirements and report as needed to support operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in campus, educational, or institutional custodial settings.
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple building schedules and priorities.
• Ability to follow established custodial standards and procedures consistently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
• Good interpersonal skills to interact respectfully with students, staff, faculty, and visitors.
• Comfort working independently while also contributing to a collaborative team.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Center Valley, PA.

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
