Now hiring Substance Abuse Counselors for our Outpatient Program located in Metairie, LA! Morning shift: M‑F 8:30 am‑4:30 pm Evening shift: M‑F 1:00 pm‑9:00 pm What You’ll Do Conduct group therapy, psychoeducation, and process groups designed to meet each client’s challenges and needs Assist clients in developing healthy coping skills, positive behaviors, and recovery tools Collaborate consistently with clinical staff to keep track of client challenges and progress Escalate any significant client concerns to the Clinical Director Maintain thorough documentation of all group sessions conducted Ensure all clinical assessments and individual client charting is completed What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. Valid state licensure / certification necessary to practice in this role, i.e. LPC, LCSW, PLPC or CIT Substance abuse experience required Excellent observational, collaborative and interpersonal skills Strong oral and written communication skills Compassionate, dignified character which models recovery principles Ability to set strong boundaries and maintain absolute confidentiality Where You’ll Work Avenues Extended Care is an intensive outpatient facility offering outpatient clinical drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.
