First & Last is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team.

We are a scratch kitchen serving seasonal Italian-inspired cuisine in downtown Phoenix. This position is focused on afternoon and evening production and preparation, helping set the kitchen up for successful dinner service.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, consistency, and the satisfaction of producing high-quality food from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and recipes according to chef specifications
• Bread and prepare high volumes of chicken cutlets for our lunch program
• Fabricate and portion proteins
• Wash, cut, and prepare produce
• Prepare sauces, vinaigrettes, stocks, and other scratch-made components
• Maintain prep lists and communicate product needs
• Receive, organize, and rotate inventory
• Follow food safety, labeling, and sanitation standards
• Keep workstations clean, organized, and efficient

Qualifications

• Previous prep cook or line cook experience preferred
• Strong knife skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and stay on task
• Sense of urgency without sacrificing quality
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods
• Reliable attendance and positive attitude

Position Details

• Daytime schedule
• Evenings off
• Full-time preferred
• $20–23 per hour, depending on experience
