AI/ML Engineer for LLM Development

Build and operate production-grade LLM-based systems that turn domain expertise into robust AI products. You will design scalable APIs and microservices, integrate advanced model orchestration tools, and apply quantitative skills to improve model performance, interpretability, and reliability. This role is core engineering work on a remote, high-impact team focused on training and evaluating frontier AI models.

• Design, build, and deploy AI and ML solutions with emphasis on large language models using Python and AWS infrastructure.
• Architect and maintain scalable APIs and microservices with FastAPI to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Integrate LangChain and other advanced AI frameworks to enable multi-step reasoning and complex model interactions.
• Translate complex mathematical, statistical, or physics-based problems into engineering solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Apply core knowledge in math, statistics, or physics to improve model performance, interpretability, and reliability.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, documentation, and peer review within a fast-paced core team.
• Communicate technical concepts and project status clearly in writing and verbally.

• Advanced degree or demonstrable expertise in mathematics, quantitative sciences, statistics, or physics.
• Expert proficiency in Python for AI and ML engineering.
• Hands-on experience deploying, fine-tuning, and integrating large language models.
• Strong experience with AWS services and cloud-native ML workflows.
• Proven experience using LangChain to chain LLMs and orchestrate multi-step reasoning.
• Practical familiarity with FastAPI for building scalable APIs.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex technical topics clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering AI and ML solutions in production at scale.
• Publication record or open-source contributions in AI/ML, applied mathematics, or computational science.
• Familiarity with advanced prompt engineering or AI safety best practices.

The listing includes two reported compensation ranges: an indicated total compensation range of $400, 000 to $800, 000 per year, and a national pay disclosure showing a base salary range of $200, 000 to $260, 000 USD per year. All employees are eligible for equity compensation. Employees may also receive performance-based bonuses, dependent on role and subject to company policies.
