About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ Years of Experience Post-operative open heart care experience Critical Care Experience - Highly Preferred Chest tube and other drain management Experience Pre- and post-procedure care for patients with radial and femoral access Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, including: reading and interpreting cardiac rhythm strips, recognizing and responding to changes in cardiac rhythms Advanced knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities Experience with assisting with chest tube removal, assisting with removal of pericardial pacing wires, management of temporary pacers, including pericardial and transcutaneous devices, use and troubleshooting of non-invasive ventilation devices, high-flow oxygen, and other oxygen delivery systems License: Active Ohio or Compact RN License Certifications: Active American Heart Association BLS Active American Heart Association ACLS Must-Have: Must float to all units within skill level Description: Functioning within the mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures, the Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients on his or her shift. RN responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria. Judgments are made based upon scientific knowledge and clinical skills. The RN also assists in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPNs and Unit Secretaries.
