IASC Occupational Therapist (OT)

Purpose: To provide occupational therapy (OT) services to students with disabilities in the IASC districts. It is expected that the OT would collaborate with all IEP team members including but not limited to, general education teachers, families, administrators, related service staff, special education staff and other IASC OT and PT professionals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide appropriate educationally necessary Occupational Therapy (OT) services on a regular basis according to the IEP specifications.
• Partner in developing the IEP to address OT needs by providing either direct or indirect services and work with appropriate school staff and make recommendations to adjust the IEP to meet the needs of the student when appropriate.
• Evaluate OT needs of a student when determined appropriate
• When applicable, provide and document supervision of a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Participate in student's IEP meetings when appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with appropriate district staff, administration and/or families in the most efficient manner for the situations.
• Partner effectively and professionally with other Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists on the IASC team

Required/Desired Education:

• Current Licensure in Occupational Therapy in the state of Minnesota

Experience and Qualifications:

• At least two years of experience providing OT service in a school setting is preferred but not required
• Experience working with various forms of technology and technology platforms
• Must be detail oriented, organized and able to problem solve
