Duties and responsibilitiesDevelopment of new materials and Products in growth-oriented, fast paced development environment.Collaborate with broad range of technical expertise throughout the companyImprove upon existing materials and products.Laboratory testing and evaluation of raw materials and refractory systems to ensure new products meet or exceed target characteristicsFailure analysis – be a technical resource for material related failuresEstablish and maintain development project timelines and status updatesProvide technical support and assist with scale up of new materials & processes into manufacturingQualify new and/or alternate raw materials for existing formulationsParticipate in cross-functional initiatives as requiredTechnical resource to Sales, Engineering and OperationsOther duties as assignedQualificationsMinimum Qualifications include:BS in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Engineering, or ChemistryProven track record in fast-paced, innovative development environmentAt least 2 years of experience in related role within a manufacturing companyProficient in MS Office applications & virtual meeting environments (Teams, Zoom, etc.)Proficient in laboratory testing methods and equipmentExperienced working in cross-functional and cross-site teams and working as an individual contributorA background as a problem-solverPreferred qualifications include:MS in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Engineering, or ChemistryProven track record in fast-paced, innovative development environmentDemonstrated experience in hard refractoriesExperience in DOE (Design of Experiments)Has knowledge in data-driven process control or basic SPC disciplineFamiliarity with data acquisition methods and softwareAt Alkegen, we strive every day to help people – ALL PEOPLE – breathe easier, live greener and go further than ever before.
