Payroll Clerk II

Summary Responsible for accurately processing and maintaining payroll records for an organization. Handle various payroll-related tasks, including timekeeping, data entry, payroll processing, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and company policies. Does this position require Patient Care? No. Essential Functions Collect and verify time and attendance data from employees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies. Calculate wages, deductions, overtime, bonuses, and other adjustments based on approved timesheets or payroll reports. Input payroll data into the payroll system accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including personal information, tax withholding, direct deposit details, and benefit deductions. Process new hire paperwork, including completing payroll setup, verifying employee data, and ensuring proper taxation and deductions. Handle employee inquiries related to payroll, tax withholdings, deductions, and other payroll-related matters. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Associate's Degree in Accounting preferred. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No. Experience Experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar payroll processing role. 2-3 years required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of payroll principles, practices, and regulations. Proficiency in using payroll software and systems for data entry and processing (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms). Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping. Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex payroll concepts to employees.
