The Business Banking Relationship Officer Team is made up of Business Banking Relationship Officers, Treasury Management Officers, Underwriters, Client Managers, and Analysts.This team managesCommercial and Industrialand Practice Finance relationships throughout its life – developing meaningful connections with leadership of the companies they serve. Always mindful of the changes in the company, its industry, etc., over time that might create a change in their financial service needs. As the Business Banking Relationship Officer Sr. , you will be selling bank products and services to companies with revenues between $1mm-$35mm. These products and services are Commercial & Industrial, Practice Finance and Payment Technologysolutions that will entice prospective companies to award new business to UMB. You will engage and build relationshipsin the community with Business Owners, CFO’s, CEO’s, and Controllers. You will also manage existing business,maintainingrelationship profitability & portfolio risk, and theprofitable growth of the portfolio includingloans, deposits, & fee income.Youhave the ability tohelp clients achieve their financial dreams, streamline business processes and help them better understand theirworkingcash flow needs. How you'll spend your time: You will utilize your networking abilities in the community by participating in community and professional activitiesin order toenhance UMB’s image and brand to build new business. You will generate investment real estate loans up to $5MM per transaction. You will utilize your credit skills to qualify companies eligible for loan business while managing the overall credit quality of assigned portfolio to ensure the loan quality. You will utilize your negotiation skills to negotiate loan proposals, analyze & evaluate credit requests & write loan commitments, for presentation to underwriter or loan committee for loan approval. Utilizing your communications skills, you will serve as the primary contact for all financial services to individual Business Banking clients with the bank to ensure retention of business. You have demonstrated experience in sales to small businesses, credit knowledge, and credit underwriting knowledge. Bonus points if: You have strategic industry sales knowledge, and marketing abilities to those industries. The Business Banking team actively calls on businesses that typically have annual revenue between $1MM and $20MM. The team includes relationship managers, client managers officers, treasury management officers and others that provide a suite of products and services that serve companies of this size. The objective of the group is to earn the title of trusted advisor and help these companies grow and prosper in our community. As the Business Banking Relationship Manager I I, you will be responsible for managing the strategic client relationships in Business Banking which will include managing an existing portfolio of business and the acquisition of new business. Clients generally are between $1MM and $20MM in annual revenue. How you'll spend your time: You will generate, retain, & expand lending, investment and deposit relationship with new and existing clients through client referrals, centers of influence & direct prospecting. You will develop, generate and follow-up on new client leads through existing clients, client referrals, COI referrals, & prospecting. You will manage overall relationship profitability & portfolio risk and is responsible for profitable growth of the portfolio assigned (includes loans, deposits, & fee income).Act as a consultant to clients and a resource to the Bank in developing & retaining business. You will provide insight& ideas for enhancing client relationships, client cash flow, profitability, and efficiency. You will manage the overall credit quality of assigned portfolio (includes sales, credit analysis, loan structuring, client and prospect interviews). You will monitor & manage existing credit relationship, which includes note renewals, reviewing & detailed analysis of current financial statements & collateral valuations, credit analysis, cash flow analysis, delinquency reporting, documenting exceptions & covenant monitoring, compiling reports necessary to monitor asset & credit quality and compliance with policy/regulation. You will negotiate loan proposals, analyze & evaluate credit requests & write loan commitments, recommend appropriate creditgrade, make oral/written presentation to underwriter or loan committee, and implement approval/declination action. You will serve as the primary link for all financial services to the individual Business Banking client with the bank (i.e. Treasury Services, International, Trust, and Cash Vault). You will participate in community & professional activitiesin order to enhance the bank’s image and expand personal network of business contacts for development of new business. You will monitor accounts toidentify potential credit problems andassure proper loan documentation. Customers tend to have complicated lending requirements involving term loan agreements, commercial real estate, and revolving credit lines. You will communicate and collaborate with consistency and transparency with business banking teams and internal partners. You will consistently use and maintain CRM usage. Other duties as assigned. You demonstrate strategic sales knowledge selling to small business owners. You demonstrate business banking product knowledge and product innovation. You have awareness of market/industry trends. You demonstrateability to source/produce efficient credit opportunities. You have knowledge of credit and operational risk-ability to quantify potential exposure and advise team. You have an understanding of credit underwriting. You have knowledge and understanding of commercial lending practices and loan documentation/loan servicing requirements. You demonstrate knowledge of financial analysis (including ratio and trend analysis and projections). You have knowledge of accounting principles and practices. You have demonstratedcapacity to sell products/services within the financial services industry. You demonstrateproficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Bonus points if: You possess a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. You understand strategic sales planning to define target markets, strategic sales approaches, and provide solutions. You have specialized knowledge of specific markets in order to serve defined industries. You have the ability to prospect and network at various levels within a company. You have enhanced communication and negotiation skills for more complex deals and relationships. You manages time effectively to balance new & existing relationships to meet goals. Compensation Range: $63,830.00 - $163,900.00 The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB’s standard for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
