Job Overview Travel Stepdown RN – Fusion Medical Staffing – Facility in Wichita, Kansas. Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Stepdown RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Wichita, Kansas. One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN is required. Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations. Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) certification. Responsibilities Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and other telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, with a focus on cardiac care. Prepares equipment and aids physician during cardiac-related procedures and examinations. Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients. Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's cardiac status and response to interventions. Responds to life‑saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies. Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients. Initiates patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients. Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards. Requirements One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN. Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations. Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) certification. The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language. Physical abilities: able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Technical/Motor skills: ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment. Mental requirements: ability to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Sensory requirements: visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate.
