WhatYou'llOwn Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, including financial statements and management reporting. Ownconstructionaccounting,jobcosting,WIPreporting,revenuerecognition,over/underbillings,projectedcosts,andanticipatedmargins. PartnerdirectlywithProjectManagersandOperationsoncost-to-completeprojections,jobforecasts,budget-to-actualperformance,andprojectprofitability. Monitorbacklog,projectedrevenue,grossprofit,projectcashflow,andoverallfinancialperformance. Maintaintheintegrityofthegeneralledger,reconciliations,journalentries,accruals,andinternalcontrols. LeadannualbudgetingandongoingforecastingwhiledevelopingmeaningfulKPIsandreportingforleadership. OverseeAP,AR,billing,collections,retainage,banking,bonding,insurance,andaudit-relatedrequests. Providefinancialinsightaroundequipment,staffing,investments,andotherstrategicbusinessdecisions. ManageandsupportonedirectreportresponsibleforAPandpayroll. Evaluatecurrentaccountingprocessesandstrategicallyproposeimprovementsthatcreategreaterefficiency,accountability,andvisibilityacrosstheorganization. PartnercloselywithexecutiveleadershipandOperationsasthefinancialvoiceofthebusiness. TheScope This individual will be the primary accounting owner for an approximately $40M construction operation, supported by one AP/payroll professional.The company typically manages 3-4 active projects at a time, with individual project values ranging from approximately $2M–$10M and project durations ranging from six months to two years.Thisisahands-onControllerposition.YouneedtobeequallycomfortablediggingintojobcostingandWIPasyouaresittingwithleadershipanddiscussingforecasts,margins,risks,andopportunities. WhatWe'reLookingFor Bachelor’sdegreerequired. StrongconstructionaccountingexperiencewithadeepunderstandingofjobcostingandWIP. Experiencewithrevenuerecognition,cost-to-completeforecasting,projectfinancialmanagement,budgeting,andcash-flowmanagement. Abilitytoindependentlyowntheaccountingfunctionwithinaproject-basedorganization. StrongExcelskills;experiencewithFoundationSoftwareoranotherconstructionERPisaplus. Strategicmindsetwiththeconfidencetoidentifyopportunitiesandbringwell-thought-outproposalstoleadership. ComfortableworkingacrossAccounting,Operations,ProjectManagement,andexecutiveleadership.
