Sterile Processing Instrument Tech - Center for Performance Medicine

The Sterile Processing Instrument Technician II operates under general supervision, following robust processes for decontamination, processing and sterilization. The Technician cleans, inspects, function‑tests, and assembles instruments and equipment for high‑level disinfection or sterilization, continuously ensuring all items are free of any bioburden. Documentation is maintained accurately on written logs and/or computer systems, and the Technician adheres to manufacturer instructions and institutional policies. The role also prioritizes instruments for processing, answers telephones, dispatches instrumentation, equipment and supplies, and performs all duties in accordance with Mercy’s mission, values and service standards. Position Details Mercy Center for Performance Medicine Surgery Center Qualifications High‑school graduate or equivalent. Minimum of 6 months experience in sterile processing or 400 hours of hands‑on experience. Certifications: CRCST (HSPA) or CSPDT (CBSPD). Basic computer skills. Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE). Interpersonal skill to interact with staff and co‑workers across many disciplines. Ability to follow directions and operate equipment.
