- Compares vendor invoices against appropriate receiving reports examining invoices for billing errors.
- Prepares data entry forms for manual vouchers and enters into SAP.
- Serves as backup to the Trust Fund and related journals for released individuals in custody.
- Process employee travel vouchers for DOC Employees as related to writs, training, multiday training, etc.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college and completion of an approved training course or three (3) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.
- Qualifying state employees, in the employee Upward Mobility Program, may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this classification.
- Prefers at least one (1) year work experience with state or non-state accounting procedures.
- Prefers at least one (1) year of experience preparing data entry forms for vouchers and verifying purchasing invoices and/or vouchers.
- Prefers at least one (1) year of experience compiling information from various documentation sources.
- Prefers at least one (1) year experience in monitoring expenditures.
- Prefers at least one (1) year experience processing vouchers for payment.
- Prefers at least one (1) year experience resolving vouchering issues.
- Prefers at least one (1) year experience maintaining a complex filing system.
- Prefers at least one (1) year experience working within computer applications regarding vouchering.
- Prefers at least one (1) year of experience working in an office setting.
- Prefers at least one (1) year of experience compiling information from various documentation sources and creating and manipulating spreadsheets for reporting purposes.
- Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
- Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
