Contracts Counsel | Investment Management | Chicago or NYC

Our client, an investment management firm, is hiring a Contracts Counsel to own commercial contracting for the business. This is a hands-on in-house role for an attorney who already uses AI and automation tools in their work.

What you'll do

\n
• Lead the drafting and negotiation of commercial and vendor contracts, including research, data, software licensing, telecom, consulting and hardware
\n
• Use AI-enabled legal and contract-management tools to speed up review, drafting, negotiation and workflow, with attorney oversight
\n
• Administer the contract lifecycle management (CLM) system and track contract terms and renewals
\n
• Balance legal and practical business considerations while working with teams across the firm
\n
• Handle day-to-day legal inquiries from business units
\n
• Support legal operations and special projects as needed
\n

What you bring

• JD

• Hands-on experience using AI and automation tools in contract work (required)
\n
• Strong negotiation, drafting and communication skills
\n
• Financial services, investment management or law firm experience preferred
\n
• Sharp judgment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once
\n
• Enthusiasm for working in the office
