Pharmacy Director | Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

This leadership opportunity calls for a skilled pharmacist ready to assume the role of Director of Pharmacy (DOP) with possible responsibilities as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a behavioral health facility in Bethlehem, PA. This contract position begins immediately, providing vital pharmacy coverage from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, including on-call duties. Weekend order verification is done remotely twice daily for about an hour each session.


Key responsibilities include managing inpatient pharmacy operations within a behavioral health setting, attending multidisciplinary meetings, maintaining medication inventory via Omnicell automation, processing medication orders through EPIC, and developing new pharmacy services and policies to ensure smooth workflows. The DOP will also contribute to the initial setup and ongoing improvement of pharmacy practices.


Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Pennsylvania pharmacist licensure is required.
• Proven experience in inpatient pharmacy, preferably within behavioral health.
• Familiarity with EPIC order entry system; on-site training will be provided.
• Experience with Omnicell automation is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong leadership skills to guide pharmacy operations and policy development.
• Ability to work independently without on-site technician support.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with on-call availability.
• Weekend order verifications remotely at 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM for approximately one hour each.
