RooferPosition at Tecta SoutheastPosition Identification: Non-ExemptReports to: Crew ManagerPosition Summary:To provide safe and efficient installation and/or repair of roofs, roofing material, and other material used in projects identified by Tecta.Job Functions:Observes all safety rules, including proper usage of PPE.Lays roofing material to repair, maintain, and install roofs and accessories.Can complete all tasks associated with one or more roofing systems, including PVC, TPO, EPDM, MOD BIT, BUR, and asphalt.Works under general supervision, receiving assignments in the form of work orders, inspection reports, or verbal instructions.Independently lays out the work, determines applicable work methods, plans sequence of work, and accomplishes assignments in compliance with practices and standards established in the job profile of the vocation.Performs other related duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):Must be able to read drawings, sketches, and diagrams as requiredAble to apply trade knowledge procedures and practices as requiredMust be skilled in the safe and economical use of the full range of tools, equipment, and materials needed for the accomplishment of the assigned workHigh School diploma or equivalentOne or more years of roofing experienceKnowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable):Two or more years roofing experienceKnowledge of construction industryKey Competencies:Ability to communicate well with supervisor and co-workersSound judgmentWell organized; Adept at planning work and managing timeInitiative, Integrity, and AdaptabilityProfessional demeanorWillingness to learnTeamwork and collaborationOccupational Health and Safety:Compliance with workplace policies and procedures for risk identification, risk assessment and risk controlActive participation in activities associated with the management of workplace health and safetyIdentification and reporting of health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries and property damage at the workplaceWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to squat, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, climb ladder, bend, kneel, type, and talk or hearThe employee is also required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel.The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusWorking Conditions:Physical surroundings: Field environment with exposure to heights, noise and temperature.Physical Effort: Extensive standing, walking, climbing ladders.
