POSITION DESCRIPTION Working in a commercial/institutional kitchen environment with occasional engagement in multipleenvironments. Routine work schedule with some flexibility due to the needs of corpsmembers and staff. JOB DUTIES Under the direction of the District Director, and with the Administrative Officer as lead, and the guidelines ofthe CCC Culinary Program, the Cook Specialist will be responsible for the management of the KitchenCulinary Program under the Supervising Cook of the assigned service district. The general description ofthe position shall be to supervise Kitchen Corpsmembers during kitchen working hours and to ensure thepreparation and service of meals to include cleaning and sanitation in a institutional/commercial kitchen setting in the assigned service district. Provides supervision, guidance, and direction to Corpsmembers during Corpsmembers’ working hours in ainstitutional/commercial kitchen setting in order to maintain general order and discipline, while promotingCorpsmember self-discipline and an awareness of others. Trains Corpsmembers in the basics of mealpreparation and service as well as cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen and dining hall. Ensures propermanagement and control of the kitchen and dining hall area to encourage and maintain clean livingconditions including monitoring the facilities food service and cleanup schedule.
