Welder/Fabricator – 2nd Shift Cook County & Champaign County, IL $27–$30/hour | On-site Hiring experienced Welders/Fabricators for second-shift openings in Cook County and Champaign County, Illinois . Positions are available in either area—applicants do not need to commute between locations. This is a hands‑on opportunity for welders who take pride in precise fit‑up, clean welds, and quality workmanship. Responsibilities: Perform MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings. Fit, align, and fabricate components to specification. Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances. Inspect completed welds and perform grinding, finishing, and rework as needed. Follow safety procedures and maintain an organized work area. Qualifications: 3+ years of TIG welding experience, along with MIG and sheet metal fabrication experience. Ability to read blueprints and work independently from drawings. Strong attention to weld quality, fit‑up, and dimensional accuracy. Ability to complete a practical weld test. AWS certifications preferred.
