Teacher Aide

Pay Range: $18.72 - $20.00 per hour if certified and $18.00- $18.00 if not certified.

Position Summary:

Teacher Aide will work with the Teachers to create a warm, welcoming and inviting educational environment for children and families.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Must be able to meet all EEC, NAEYC and Head Start performance standards.

Maintain compliance with all federal, state and local regulations related to Head Start/Early Head Start and MA Department of Early Education and Care;

Assist with the maintenance of a clean, safe, healthy and developmentally appropriate classroom environment;

Assist with individual and group activities in a center-based classroom at the direction of the Teachers.

Qualifications:

• Uncertified Aide - High School Diploma or Equivalent OR enrolled in a Highschool Early Childhood Development program or work experience program
• Certified Aide- Experience based on education. (3 months if you have a AA or BA, 9 months if you have HS Diploma)
• 6 months to 1 year of teaching experience preferred
• 6 months to 1 year of experience working with low-income individuals or families preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient computer skills required in basic computer software and data collection systems.
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or English/Khmer) are a plus.
• Must be able to show evidence of MMR vaccination and have a recent physical.
• CORI/DCF review prior to employment which includes fingerprinting.
• Background check prior to employment
• Excellent crisis management skills.
• Good attention to detail.

The base salary range represents the Agency's good-faith estimate of the compensation for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation within the range will be based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
