Associate Chief Quality Officer - Physician Leadership

We are in search of a board-certified physician leader to take on the role of Associate Chief Quality Officer (ACQO) at our facility. This executive will spearhead initiatives focused on quality and patient safety while also maintaining a limited clinical practice.
Role OverviewThe Associate Chief Quality Officer will oversee quality management, regulatory compliance, and performance enhancement initiatives across our hospital, which includes two facilities with a total of 282 staffed beds.
Collaborating closely with the Chief Quality Officer and the Chief Medical Officer, the ACQO will drive efforts to enhance clinical outcomes, ensure patient safety, prevent infections, and improve publicly reported quality metrics. This role will be structured with approximately 80% dedicated to leadership and 20% to clinical responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Direct hospital-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Execute our Quality and Patient Safety (QPS) strategic initiatives
- Collaborate with clinical departments and hospital leadership to promote improvement efforts
- Track performance metrics related to CMS programs, value-based purchasing, and public reporting
- Prepare for Joint Commission and regulatory surveys
- Conduct investigations into adverse events, including Root Cause Analyses and Failure Mode and Effects Analyses
- Engage in hospital and health system committees focused on quality and safety
Required:
- MD or DO with active board certification in any medical specialty
- At least 3 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare quality
- Proven experience in implementing quality improvement or patient safety initiatives
Preferred:
- Experience within a complex healthcare system
- Familiarity with regulatory and accreditation standards
- Leadership experience in roles such as physician executive, medical director, or hospital leadership
- Strong skills in analysis, communication, and change management
