Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - MedSurg/PCU

Location: City, State

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) in the MedSurg/PCU department. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, willing to work across various departments as needed, and available to cover shifts through the upcoming holiday season with minimal requests for time off (RTO).

Responsibilities:

• Identify and address patient and significant others' needs for education, using appropriate educational methods.
• Ensure patient safety through preventive measures such as side rails, restraints, and safe equipment usage, adhering to restraint policies.
• Demonstrate knowledge and safe operation of all equipment in the PCU, Telemetry, and MedSurg areas.
• Implement and document proper infection control and isolation procedures.
• Utilize standard precautions and maintain complete and accurate documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses during assigned shifts.
• Accurately document charge and ensure timely completion of physicians' orders.
• Perform a 24-hour check of orders as required by the assigned shift duties.
• Provide thorough change of shift reports to oncoming staff.
• Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure patient care continuity.
• Report critical lab values to physicians promptly in accordance with policy.
• Maintain and restock emergency carts, rooms, and general supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Active Washington State RN License.
• Experience in MedSurg and PCU is required.
• Ability to flexibly work in various departments as needed.
• Commitment to patient safety and high-quality care.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
