Department: Field ConstructionPosition SummaryFreyssinet, Inc. is seeking Laborers with an ironworker background to support our Maryland Statewide Preservation Contract. This position will perform work on multiple bridge and infrastructure preservation projects throughout Maryland, primarily in Central and Western Maryland.The ideal candidate will have experience in ironwork, structural steel, bridge maintenance, or heavy civil construction. This role will assist with welding preparation, steel installation, beam-end retrofits, and other structural repair activities while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist welders with welding preparation and steel fabrication activitiesSupport steel installation and structural repair work on bridges and transportation infrastructurePerform beam-end retrofit and preservation work in accordance with project requirementsInstall, position, and secure steel componentsAssist with rebar installation and other reinforcement activities as neededOperate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safelyPerform material handling, site preparation, and general construction support tasksFollow project plans, work instructions, and company safety proceduresMaintain a safe, clean, and organized work environmentTravel to project sites throughout Maryland as requiredQualificationsIronworker, structural steel, bridge maintenance, or related construction experience preferredExperience assisting with welding, steel erection, structural repairs, or rehabilitation projects preferredAbility to safely operate hand and power toolsStrong attention to safety, quality, and teamworkValid driver's license and reliable transportation preferredOSHA 10 certification is a plusWork SchedulePrimarily day shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PMOccasional night shift work may be required based on project schedulesOvertime and weekend work may be required as neededCompensationTypical base hourly rate is approximately $26.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.This position is performed under the Maryland Statewide Preservation Contract and is subject to prevailing wage requirements.Employees will be compensated according to the applicable prevailing wage rates for the county and trade classification in which the work is performed.
