Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional.
The RN coordinates patient care delivery by the healthcare team.
Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient.
The RN identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems.
The RN develops and implements an individualized plan of care.
The RN evaluates the patient's response to the care provided.
The RN promotes safe passage for patients throughout their healthcare experiences.
The RN uses knowledge of patient needs to assist patients through healthcare encounters without preventable complications.
The RN delegates interventions to healthcare personnel based on nursing standards.
The role includes RNs in hospital inpatient and outpatient departments with 24/7 staffing including on-call.
