This position is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the maintenance mechanics in conjunction with operations to provide the customer with safe and reliable equipment to meet their needs. These maintenance duties are necessary for off-highway equipment, in a steel mill application. We are the world leader with a proven track record with satisfied customer steel mills across the globe. A qualified candidate will have excellent mechanical, Hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting skills and be able to teach hourly employees these skills as well. Responsibilities: Manage and lead a team of mechanics to ensure effective and efficient maintenance of all equipment and machinery at the site. Develop and implement maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. Work with operations to schedule maintenance repairs necessary to provide safe, reliable equipment to meet and exceed customer’s needs. Monitor equipment performance and reliability, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in all maintenance activities. Manage the maintenance operational and CAPEX budgets, including forecasting and cost control measures. Implement and maintain a preventive maintenance program to prolong equipment life and reduce repair costs. Oversee the installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring it meets operational requirements and safety standards. Mentor and develop maintenance staff through training and performance management initiatives. Requirements: Technical degree in Diesel, Electrical, Hydraulic, or a related field. Proven experience (5+ years) in mobile heavy equipment maintenance management within a heavy industrial environment, preferably in steel manufacturing. Strong leadership and managerial skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team. Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Experience with maintenance planning software and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in an industrial setting. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
