Senior Software Architect

Salary: $150,000 - 300,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline, though equivalent hands-on experience may be accepted.
• We look for 8+ years of software engineering background, including 3+ years in a System Architect, Principal Engineer, or Lead Software Architect capacity building complex, layered software platforms.
• We need demonstrated experience designing software for physical hardware environments such as additive manufacturing, industrial automation, robotics, semiconductor equipment, or advanced electronics production.
• We expect strong command of modern languages such as C++, Rust, Python, C#, or Go, along with solid understanding of object-oriented, functional, and event-driven design approaches.
• We value practical experience with real-time systems, edge computing, motion control, or high-throughput sensor data ingestion and processing.
• We need someone comfortable operating with both executive stakeholders and technical teams, able to discuss architecture at a strategic level and troubleshoot code, traces, or hardware communication protocols in depth.
• We require excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to turn complex architectural ideas into clear, actionable direction.
• We look for strong planning and organizational abilities, including the discipline to manage architecture runway and technical debt while supporting aggressive delivery timelines.
• We want a willingness to work hands-on in the lab, debug on physical equipment, prototype solutions, and support the engineering team wherever needed.
• We need the ability to collaborate across functions in a fast-scaling environment where processes and infrastructure are evolving.

• We own the overall software architecture for ECAM production systems, including system boundaries, data models, APIs, and technology choices from edge to cloud.
• We lead the design of real-time control, data collection, and process monitoring software to deliver sub-millisecond accuracy and dependable operation in demanding physical and electrochemical workflows.
• We establish technical roadmaps and architectural standards, promoting best practices, design patterns, modularity, and security across multidisciplinary teams.
• We partner with hardware, electrochemical, process, and applications engineering teams to convert complex physical requirements into maintainable software architectures.
• We architect end-to-end digital thread solutions connecting CAD/CAM preparation, machine control, factory MES/ERP integrations, and fleet telemetry.
• We lead technical trade-off analysis and prototyping, assessing emerging technologies, frameworks, and external tools to solve new manufacturing challenges.
• We mentor software, firmware, and automation engineers, run design reviews, and help build a culture of technical excellence and continuous innovation.
• We act as a structured communication path to leadership, clearly sharing technical risk, architectural dependencies, and resource requirements.
• We define strategies for reliability, fault tolerance, and security so production machines meet strict uptime, safety, and intellectual property protection expectations at customer sites.
• We collaborate with cross-functional partners to improve New Product Introduction, helping shorten the cycle from software build to machine deployment and factory ramp.
