Project Manager (Mitigation/Remediation)
Ideal Restoration, Inc
Job Description
Job Description
Ideal Restoration, Inc. (Ideal), a Bay Area leader in building emergency and hazard response, is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team.
WHO ARE YOU?
- Good service matters to you. You take pride in your client service and believe that it's a reflection on you, your work and the organization you represent.
- You sweat the small stuff. You've always been a "details" person. You live in the forest but focus on the trees. Having a consistent look and feel, and the finishing touches, matter. To you, getting the details right is essential to a good outcome.
- You're obsessed with organization. You're known as someone who gets things done quickly and calmly. You can handle many responsibilities at once and you instinctively discern between what's important and what's urgent. Things don't fall through the cracks.
- You're a hungry learner. You enjoy constantly taking in new information and solving problems. You are committed to continuous learning about the world and the work around you. You love feedback.
- You thrive in an entrepreneurial environment. You're resourceful and at ease with ambiguity and rapid change. You possess a positive, can-do attitude, and are adept at identifying creative solutions that turn challenges into opportunities. You can handle multiple responsibilities in a stressful environment and you're rigorous about prioritization. You enjoy working collaboratively but are also able to get things done on your own.
WHO ARE WE?
We are Ideal Restoration, and we save the spaces that shelter, teach, heal and change the world. We offer a range of emergency and environmental services designed specifically for commercial, public facility, and multi-family housing managers. From the moment Ideal is engaged, we take control of the situation. We quickly and effectively resolve issues and ensure the health and safety of building occupants. We have a strong orientation towards client success, we're always focused on minimizing costs, risks, and the impact on building operations and people.
With our headquarters in San Francisco, we're geographically positioned to respond within 90 minutes or less to every call we receive. Ideal is proud to be a Women's Business Enterprise and San Francisco Local Business Enterprise.
WHAT'S THE JOB?
- You'll manage projects from start to finish. Starting with inspections and estimates, you'll guide project stakeholders through recommendations to quickly develop scope, timelines, and expectations for their projects - even when they are complex, multi-hazard situations. You'll visit your job sites, ensure work is being performed correctly, safely and in compliance with regulatory agencies (like BAAQMD, CDPH, OSHA, etc.) - especially when the projects involve hazardous materials such as lead, asbestos, or biological materials.
- You'll communicate with clients daily. Keeping clients informed of our team's progress and needs, as well as deftly navigating through any issues that arise, is a daily task. Starting with the contract and ending with final payment, whether by phone, text, email or in person, your proactive communication differentiates you and the Ideal team as the leaders we are.
- You'll direct and lead our technician crews. Setting and confirming a scope with our lead technicians is only the beginning, as you'll check-in daily to ensure they are on track and support them to do their best work. You'll also be responsible for providing feedback to the team - positive and constructive - on a daily basis to ensure their growth and ensure excellent outcomes.
- You'll manage approved subcontractors and materials needs. From equipment rental, temporary labor, and partnering and coordinating with other contractors and our clients' industrial hygienists, you'll ensure you have what you need to get every job done right.
- You'll serve on the Emergency Response Team. Building emergencies don't just happen during business hours - losses come in at all hours of the day, every day of the week, including holidays. You'll be on a rotating schedule with the rest of the team so that we may respond to our clients' after-hours needs
- You'll partner with your teammates every day. Working closely with your fellow Project Managers, you'll leverage the support of the team's Project Coordinator to set schedules, keep projects on track, ensure complete and accurate documentation, and to prioritize crews as new work comes in. You'll also collaborate with our business development team to help win new clients and represent Ideal, as well as to collect post-project feedback from clients.
- You'll deliver accurate invoices and support collection efforts. You'll review your team's job logs daily to ensure accuracy, and once the project is done, you'll partner with the accounting team to send out timely invoices and will help make sure we get paid. As needed, you will also confidently communicate with any stakeholders (such as insurance adjusters or consultants) to resolve outstanding billing issues or questions.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Six+ years of position-related experience, preferably in the restoration industry.
- Proficient with productivity software (Google Workspace) and job management software applications (e.g. Xactimate, Capabuild, Hubspot, etc.). Very comfortable utilizing technology on a daily basis to complete work.
- Skilled and professional oral and written communicator in all types of situations with all stakeholders . Bilingual in English/Spanish a big plus.
- Strong drive as an individual contributor, and supports a strong team by cultivating positive professional working relationships with all team members. Possesses a team-first mentality.
- High School Diploma or GED required; college or advanced degree a plus.
- Proficient technical skills, experience and certification in the areas of service the company provides.
- Possess a valid California Driver's license with a minimum of three year's driving experience - must have a satisfactory driving record with no DUIs and be insurable under normal insurance rates
