Role Overview Principal Engineer Product Development Applications Engineer on the Customer Collaboration and Technical Marketing team. Responsible for working with internal development teams, QA, production, and customers to verify, validate, and develop high‑density power modules and related solutions. Key Responsibilities Verify that module operation is fully validated, can be built in high volume, and meets target requirements. Work with QA and production to validate modules for high‑volume manufacturing and gain customer application knowledge through regular interaction. Define next‑generation silicon requirements to enable future high‑density power modules. Collaborate with strategic customers to develop concepts for differentiated modules. Create innovative solutions to address future architectures and module packaging for challenging customer applications. Develop go‑to‑market materials: evaluation boards, datasheets, application notes, and design tools for new products, and support customer project design‑in activities. Provide advanced technical training to regional FAEs on using Infineon components to enhance the value of end‑customer products. Benchmark competitor products and generate promotional material (test reports, application notes, white papers) for product promotion. Qualifications Minimum bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in electrical engineering, electronic engineering, or related field. At least 5 years of power‑related experience in module or supply design, or power semiconductor development or applications. Experience with power conversion topologies, power devices, magnetics, and control loop design. Specification of MOSFETs, gate drivers, capacitors, inductors, and successful deployment of these components in power module design. Proficiency in using digital oscilloscopes, function generators, network analyzers, and similar lab equipment for testing and debugging switching power supplies. Hands‑on experience with schematic entry, circuit simulation, and PCB layout tools. Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink, SIMetrix, Power DC, Power SI, or similar design engineering tools.
