Job Details Worker Type: Regular Schedule: full time days Sign On Bonus: up to $10,000 Pay Range: starts at $/hour Daily pay available Shift Differentials: night, weekend, and additional shifts Requirements: Completion of a Radiology program and ARRT-R within 6 months of hire date Relocation assistance is available for qualified applicants Job Summary Takes x-rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnostic purposes and provides support for the imaging department. Performs plain films, fluoroscopy, portable examinations, OR exams, and bone density studies (BD registry required). Responsibilities Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding. Provides appropriate educational material. Transports patients to and from clinical areas and verifies patient identity according to policies and procedures. Prepares patients for radiology exams by positioning them. Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines. Prevents unnecessary patient radiation exposure. Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within scope of practice and regulations. Observes patients during procedures and reports abnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements. Ensures prompt submission of high‑quality images and documents to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history). Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel. Locks/tag‑out equipment if appropriate. Maintains a clean, orderly department including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and other areas. May perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT technologist is not on site. Works in a constant state of alertness and safety. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Education: Completion of a Radiology Technology program. Experience: No prior experience required. Physical Requirements Constant standing and walking. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more). Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information orally. Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, equipment malfunction, etc. Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0‑25 lbs. Frequent lifting and moving patients. Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25‑50 lbs. Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors. Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Rare kneeling and sitting. Required Professional Licenses and Certifications Illinois: Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA); Radiologic Technologist – Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) (temporary accreditation); ARRT‑R Radiography or ARRT‑BD Bone Density. Missouri and Oklahoma: Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA); ARRT‑R Radiography or ARRT‑BD Bone Density. Wisconsin: Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA); Radiographer, Licensed – Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services; ARRT‑R Radiography or ARRT‑BD Bone Density.
