Location

Marshfield, WI | Adult and Pediatric Level 2 Trauma Center

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-Hour Shifts | Mid Shifts Available (shift start times ranging from 05:00 to 19:00) | Every other weekend and every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a combined 38-bed Emergency and Urgent Care department treating approximately 140–180 patients per day, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 in the ER and 1:6 in Urgent Care
• Perform triage for both walk-in patients and ambulance arrivals; all nurses, including travelers, are expected to triage
• Manage and monitor common vasoactive and cardiac drips including heparin, nitroglycerin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nicardipine, and norepinephrine
• Draw and process labs; collaborate with support staff including paramedics, techs, and respiratory therapy for comprehensive patient care
• Monitor patient cardiac rhythms using GE monitors; troubleshoot equipment and escalate respiratory concerns to RT as appropriate
• Maintain required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience
• Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center
• Pediatric nursing experience
• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and subject to a local rate adjustment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Cerner EMR
• ENPC certification (encouraged but not required)
• Familiarity with common ER diagnoses including chest pain, sepsis, syncope, and psychiatric presentations
• Experience working in a STEMI-receiving and Stroke Center environment
