Fleet Diesel Mechanic

Walpole, Inc. has an opening for a full‑time Diesel Mechanic at our Birmingham, AL terminal. Duties Diagnose all phases of vehicle and equipment repair. Remove, clean, repair, reinstall, and adjust vehicle components. Communicate professionally with drivers, team members, and supervisors. Required Experience Diagnosis of diesel engines and after‑treatment problems. Repair of outer end components: brakes, bearings, and seals. Electrical troubleshooting. HVAC systems. Air brake repairs. Our Fleet Maintenance Mechanics adapt to a challenging variety of daily tasks. Major Responsibilities Choosing appropriate course of action for repairs. Evaluating completed work prior to release and seeking supervisor approval where required. Ensuring accurate completion of work orders. Performing road calls and emergency services as necessary. Participating in safety or educational training as required. Moving vehicles safely between job and work area. Communicating professionally with drivers, team members, and supervisors.
