Job Description

Coordinates the hotel's activities and related personnel as directed and supports the AGM / Front Office Manager.

Responsibilities

Work all operations, including but not limited to rooms, food & beverage, and maintenance. Position requires practical leadership skills to build and reward a service culture. Responsible for the full implementation and consistency of Atira& Van Buren Hotel at Shipshewana standards and company expectations, brand standards, and industry rating for the property. Answers inquiries about hotel policies and services.

Note- Other duties as assigned by AGM/Front Office Manager.

Job Requirements:

This position is responsible for covering the front desk shifts in the event of a call-off.

FRONT DESK LEAD DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. M ust have Holiday Inn& Opera Experience.
2. Schedule : Monday to Friday, Weekends, On-call
3. Previous supervisory responsibility experience preferred.  
4. Must have a valid driver's license for the applicable state.
5. Must be able to convey information and ideas.
6. Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
7. Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations, including handling guest objections and disputes to satisfactory results.
8. Must be able to show initiative in job performance. 
9. Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
10. Must be effective at listening to understanding and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
11. Team player to serve as a mentor for other employees and volunteers.
12. Maintain current knowledge and answer questions of other workers on procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives (for example, technical orders).
13. Participate in hotel committees and task force assignments.
14. Assist all departments in servicing the guests during high-volume periods.
15. As a manager, you will be a role model, sharing your expertise and continually inspiring the front office team

Qualifications:

Education/Experience: Associate's degree or the equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certification or License Requirement: Alcohol awareness certification. Assistant General Manager and/or other certification as required by franchise.

Skills and Qualities:

Must have the ability to follow directions and be attentive to detail—knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and cleaning equipment are required. Strong interpersonal skills are needed, including communicating positively and politely with clients, visitors, and other hotel staff. Must be able to read and interpret written instructions and labels on equipment and products used by the department.

Working Conditions:

Will be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Will be required to work in a fast-paced environment.

Will be required to be on call when away from work.
