Role Description The Accountant/Bookkeeper role is a full-time, on-site position located in Baltimore, MD. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, including recording transactions, maintaining the general ledger, reconciling bank and credit accounts, and processing accounts payable and accounts receivable. The Accountant/Bookkeeper will prepare and review financial reports, assist with budgeting, monitor cash flow, and support month-end and year-end closing processes. Additional responsibilities may include payroll support, tracking job costs, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies, and collaborating with management to provide accurate financial insights. The role requires consistent on-site coordination with operations and leadership to ensure financial data is timely, accurate, and aligned with business needs.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in general accounting and bookkeeping practices, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
• Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice management, payment processing, and collections tracking.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar systems) and Microsoft Excel for reporting, data analysis, and financial documentation.
• Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements, support budgeting and forecasting, and monitor cash flow for small to mid-sized businesses.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial team members.
• Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles and company policies.
• Preferred: Prior experience in construction, millwork, manufacturing, or a related industry; associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
