Mainframe IMS Application DBA

Our client, a leader in enterprise technology solutions, is seeking a Mainframe IMS Application DBA to join their team. As a Mainframe IMS Application DBA, you will be part of the Database Management Department supporting the IMS Database Administration team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, proactive problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills, which will align successfully in the organization. Job Title:Mainframe IMS Application DBA Location: Hybrid in Phoenix, Arizona Contract on W2 What's the Job? Manage and support IMS database environments in a high-availability enterprise setting. Design, support, and optimize IMS database performance and data integrity. Perform backup, recovery, and reorganization activities for mission-critical applications. Collaborate with application development, system programming, and operations teams to ensure seamless database operations. Participate in complex database projects, including migrations and infrastructure support using emerging methodologies. What's Needed? Minimum of 7 years of DBA experience supporting IMS databases in a z/OS environment with Sysplexed Data Sharing. Strong knowledge of Full Function, Fast Path, and HALDB databases, including secondary indexing and logical relationships. Hands-on experience with IMS utilities, database monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning. Proficiency with JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, REXX, and batch/online IMS environments.
