Refrigeration/Boiler Mechanic - 1st Shift

Overview Assists with the maintenance of the plant’s equipment, including preventive maintenance on machinery along with a variety of other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager. Successful candidate will assist department supervisor and facilities manager with special projects and overall direction of the department. Responsibilities Perform tasks as described and assigned by the department lead/supervisor. Open valves on equipment such as compressors, pumps, and condensers to prepare the system for operation and start equipment and auxiliary machinery. Observe temperature, pressure and ampere readings for system and equipment and adjust controls or override automatic controls to obtain specified operation of equipment. Repack pumps and compressors, clean condensers, and replace worn or defective parts. Work as a team player, ensuring product specifications are attained safely and efficiently. Communicate well with other team members. Assist other departments as assigned by lead, supervisor or manager. Follow Company’s GMPs, SOPs, plant rules, other policies and codes of conduct. Follow written and oral instructions. Strive to satisfy the requirements of both internal and external customers. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must work in a cold, damp environment. Basic oral and written communication skills. Ability to stand, reach, stoop, kneel or crouch. Ability to lift and move 50-75 pounds (with assistance when required).
